Space Eko East is an independent recording studio based in East London, run by Alex McGowan (producer/writer/programmer/engineer/instrumentalist).
The studio features a large live room with plenty of character and quality gear to make recordings sound great. (also see equipment list in “NOTES”). Many Space Eko productions have found their way into major Film, TV, Advertising Campaigns (Six Feet Under, CSI Miami and many more…). We also have a comfy couch and in case you’re a vampire, we work nights too…
Our philosophy is to make artists feel welcome and comfortable, and depending on their experience provide guidance or contribute creatively.
Our production is mainly influenced by organic music such as early Blues, Northern Soul, Jazz, swing, Gypsy, 60s Garage Rock, Rockabilly etc. (the studio owns a Hammond X5, Fender Rhodes, Vox Continental, a 1940s Honky Tonk Piano). We won’t shy away from modern production techniques or “pop” music as long as it sounds “interesting”.
