A great project / recording studio in Amsterdam. Perfect for electronic music producers, songwriters, writing camps or listening sessions. The studio is really impressive and big for Dutch standards. The vibe is fresh and its very stylishly furnished. The studio is build in the former cinetone studios which date back to 1933. The place actually was a recording studio back in the days where they used to record music for films and choirs and stuff. We completely renovated the place but the acoustics where really nice already. The original construction of all the rooms are still there and they are perfect. The gear is simple but very high quality. This studio doesn’t have an enourmous amount of outboard gear or mics, it is a really simple but top of the line Project studio in an extraordinary cool space. If you want to record a superwarm dusty Jazz record with only vintage gear there are def better places to do this. Since the place is about 175m2 there is a lot of space to breath, walk, think, brainstorm, sing etc. The set up is build around a very strong iMac which booths from a lacie little big disk with 4 ssd cards, a metric Halo ULN 8 converter and a Metric Halo Lio. And top of the line ATC SCM 50 Pro’s Monitors, Event Opals, Avantone, Grace M905 monitor control, Phoenix Audio Nicerizer with class A transistors. We have a few good mics, U87 can be arranged, neuman and shure sm7b are in place. Aswell as some cool synths like Dx7 Mk2, Yamaha CSx1, MicroKorg, Elektron Machine Drum, And loads of other stuff. Including any software plugin you can think off. For people who want to work on their own laptop just download a driver, plug in a thunderbolt and your good to go!
