Dioramaland Studio is a jamming, writing, tracking, creative paradise with the emphasis on the sprawling Victorian space and its inspiration pumping vibes. Living in the space you record with no schedule or time limits on the day is a singular experience. It is amazing what can happen when there is no clock ticking and the ability to capture inspiration is wide open. The house is an instrument itself. Live in it and experience. We have a 200 foot long 16X4 audio snake that can access all of the unique recording spaces. From the 10 foot ceilings and a large open entrance/stairway on the first floor to the period piece feel of the 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor, Dioramaland offers countless options for the recording of the natural reflections born of solid wood and plaster grand construction. The third floor attic space is the true gem of the house. It is the place where the creative engine hums. At the heart is the control center with desk (your computer), rack and Mackie HR824 monitors this is the perfect listening writing tracking area for experimental and committed playing and tracking. The sprawling 1200 square foot space with 15 foot peaked ceilings is deep spray foam insulated and covered in fabric. The entire space is silent and dead. almost no unwanted reflections to be found anywhere. This combination of large yet dead space offers a multitude of recording options from the subtlest of acoustic and vocal recordings to full on drums and roaring tube amps. The overall value of a recording experience at Dioramaland studios lies in the space itself. Some of the most lively and enduring recordings of all times have been created in unique spaces like this. The combination of the feel of a house from another time, generations old and the practical recording applications of the variety of large rooms make recording at Dioramaland very special. The space is conducive to a functional living/working environment where the outcome is ease of productivity. While this is not a gear heavy studio you will find the a solid platform of a recording infrastructure from which to build your perfect setup. There will be a small selection of nice guitars, basses, keyboards and amps. there will be a selection of standard mics. You will need to bring your own computer to record. From there I offer 8 Apogee A-D inputs. There will be 8 mic stands with 8 XLR cables. 4 sets of headphones. You can bring what you like for pre amps or inquire about rentals. I can always get what you need but at an additional cost. There is professional video and photography equipment on site and can be accessed on demand.
