The Ardennes, with its acres of forests, rolling hills, nature reserves and ancient stone buildings has a certain charm to it. The natural beauty and possibilities for outdoor pursuits - including Belgium’s only ski resort- make it a popular tourist attraction. It also happens to be home to a thriving residential recording studio, La Chapelle. The recording facilities date back to 1979 and were previously (the now re-located) Katy Studios where Marvin Gaye recorded his final album, Midnight Love.
La Chapelle Studio is a high end, fully equipped facility, consisting of one of the biggest recording rooms in Europe, a large control room and several isolated booths. For your comfort there is lots of daylight everywhere. The recording room is big enough to record a symphony orchestra (3000 m3, acoustic treatment by Harris Grant & Associates), but also tight and compact enough to handle rock, pop or jazz music. Next to the studio you can relax in the recreation lounge. Have a drink at the bar, play a game of pool, Wii or just chillout on the sofa and watch a movie.
Our studio offers you the perfect marriage between vintage and state-of-the-art.
At the heart of the studio, our 1972 vintage CADAC A series console, coupled to an analogue Euphonix mixing desk will give your hits the sound they need.
Centered around the console you’ll find a great choice of outboard gear, ranging from vintage to state-of-the-art equipment.
We also provide you with a very large and high class microphone kit, from the vintage Neumann U67 and the most recent Neumann M149, to stereo couple Bruell & Kjaerr and Schoeps microphones.
During production, you’ll have all our backline at your disposal:a Hammond RT3, 2 Leslies, Fender Rhodes, Rickenbacker bass with Fender Bassman cabinet, a vintage Fender Telecaster, Fender Twin Reverb, Roland Jazz Chorus, Korg MS10, Korg VC10 vocoder, Korg Monopoly and many more…
Finally, the studio has a headphone monitoring system based on Mackie consoles with 16 inputs. Each musician can make his own headphone mix, which saves time and adds comfort for the musician.

- - Come Home to The Artist Lodge. We think it is very important that musicians feel at home during their session at La Chapelle. A good vibe is at least as important as the technical facilities. That's why during your session you will stay in our charming 5-bedroom farmhouse near the studios. On entering the house you walk straight into a warm lounge around a fireplace. At the left of the lounge

- - dishwasher and all the mod cons. Next to the lounge area there is a dinner room. Feel free to ask about our catering provisions if you don't feel like cooking!
