Bio:

When Ginza was only 13 he wrote a classical guitar piece called “Spanish Dream” that won him 1st place state and regional student composition awards and received a 3rd place honorable mention nationally. Ginza promptly used the Award money to buy himself quality Martin acoustic guitar which he has used to this day. Despite the copious amounts of marijuana he smoked in high school (and subsequently fucked off grades he served teachers he didnt like) his musical accolades earned him admittance to the prestigious Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1996 Ginza moved south to Atlanta to attend Emory University where he was a double major in English and Music. He studied Jazz improv with Jazz Pianist Garey Motley, Electronic Music HIstory and Studio Technology with World Music Connoisseur Steve Everett, Classical theory and Orchestration, and one on one Classical Counterpoint with Professor John Anthony Lennon, as well as a double major in Poetry and Literature. During these years Ginza spent his summers at home in New York to be with his mother who was terminally ill with cancer. It was during these summers that he had the luck and privilege to meet and study under legendary jazz guitarist Billy Bauer who toured and performed with Charlie Parker, Benny Goodman, Lenny Tristano, and also taught guitar legends Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Ginza drove 2 hours each way to meet with Billy and credits all his guitar chops and improvisational musical skills to Billy’s unique method of instrumental teaching.

In Spring of 2000 Ginza left his last semester at Emory to be with his mother who finally passed away on July 4th, 2000. Returning to Atlanta he found himself grieving and shredding blues riffs at Northside Tavern Blues Bar alongside Atlanta’s legends Colonel Bruce Hampton and guitarist Jimmy Herring (Allmon Brothers, Widespread Panic) at an open mic blues jam night hosted by Colonel Bruce. Out of these ranks he met and formed his first short lived but regionally successful 6 piece band “Ghost Trane” which played nearly 200 shows in 2000 and sold out Variety Playhouse alongside North Mississippi All Stars one New Years Eve 2001. After this final blowout performance the group broke up and Ginza returned to Emory to finish his degree.

After graduating Emory it was not long before Ginza formed Earth One Studios, in 2003, and the Electronic/Instrumental group Elemental Harmonics. Elemental toured nationally coast to coast several times over and played notable festivals such as Jazz Fest in New Orleans and Camp Bisco in New York. Elemental released a self titled album in 2005 on Vinyl and Itunes .

In 2007 Ginza began his own trademark and to date has churned out three electronic LPS “Breakbeat Modulation System”, “Metamorph”, and “Improvised Elevation Device “. During this time rather than focus on touring, Ginza transitioned to Colorado where he hand built from the ground up the structure that houses the new Earth One Studio, Colorado. Collaborating with powerhouse musicians including drummer and producer Nick Allen of “Artime” He debuted his new live band format Album at Arise Music Festival and is currently preparing his 4th LP Ginza album for Release in 2017.
